Kronitor has survived centuries as Krampus, mastered artificial intelligence, and built a chocolate empire renowned throughout the magical world, yet nothing in his extraordinary career has prepared him for the humiliation of receiving a 2.7 out of 10 for his legendary hot chocolate, particularly when the judgment comes from a machine invented by Ethan, who insists that his calculations are flawless and would be delighted to explain them in approximately forty-seven PowerPoint slides.

Kronitor, a gentleman of impeccable taste and very limited patience when it comes to culinary criticism, decides there is only one civilized way to settle the matter: organize the first-ever Hot Chocolate Championship at Frost HQ, invite the finest chocolate makers to compete, and demonstrate once and for all that his recipe is a masterpiece deserving universal admiration.

Unfortunately, he makes three rather unfortunate decisions. He allows Ethan to handle the technology, Kaida to supervise the magical ingredients, and a panel of children to judge the competition, apparently forgetting that children consider seventeen marshmallows a perfectly reasonable serving size and have been known to award extra points for anything that explodes.

Before the first round is over, enchanted cocoa beans have escaped their containers, the chocolate fountain has developed an alarming personality, and Ethan’s revolutionary automatic marshmallow dispenser has launched enough ammunition to qualify as a minor military incident. Kaida, meanwhile, is having the time of her life, particularly whenever Ethan’s inventions demonstrate that artificial intelligence and actual intelligence are not necessarily the same thing.

As the competition spirals into increasingly delicious chaos, an unexpected discovery brings Kronitor face-to-face with a forgotten chapter of his past, revealing why the creature once feared as Krampus abandoned his old ways and devoted himself to creating the perfect cup of hot chocolate.

Between magical mishaps, spectacular recipes, and a rivalry that threatens to cover Frost HQ in whipped cream, Ethan and Kaida will discover that winning isn’t always about having the cleverest invention or the most impressive ingredients, while Kronitor may finally learn that the secret to extraordinary chocolate cannot be calculated by even the most sophisticated machine.
